Update of 6 fucking months
It's been a long time since there was any news.
I added a window that gives the players' HP in the menu.
(There are cockroach statues because of a pun in French)
The wool forest.
With a wip of the wool forest theme, which I haven't finished yet.

Drake's mother's house is in the forest.

The cave of Nermal.
I also redid all the anims. Until then I was using edited versions of the base anims. It looks better now, we understand better what's going on and there's less clash of styles.

This video is a bit old, since then I made the damage appear only at the end of the technique, so that the player has less stuff to look at at the same time.
I also made all the maps of the game with Drake, Gatto and Bakura, and wrote almost all the scenes of the game.
Plus some new enemies:
A raptor.
A Kobold under Nermal's control.
Skeletal hands knitting a piece of cloth that works for Nermal.
A planet with a drop of water which works for Nermal.
Among others. I've done plenty of these since the last time.
All the enemies that have a skull on them that looks like Nermal's tattoo are manipulated by him actually.
I also decided that each zone would have a unique enemy that you can talk to, who is much more powerful than the others.
I also added a book of magic, given to you by nostalgia at the very beginning of the game. It's an item you have to pay to rip out pages, and each page has a passive effect, like skipping fights you would win in a turn and gaining exp anyway (because why has no one ever done that except Earthbound? It's a genius idea), increase/decrease the frequency of fights. Once everything is purchased, the player will have partial control over how the game works. It is also this book that allows you to teach your characters techniques.
Basically it's a bit like the tool system I was going to do a few months ago, only better, and already programmed.
Before programming the end of the part with Drake, Gatto and Bak and moving on (and eventually making a demo, why not?), I'll add three optional areas to detail the lore. The first one, just after the house of nostalgia, makes the player visit the snake village, an ultra-desert area in the middle of the forest and meet Mia, the snake ambassador. The second, in an area below Flightown, allows the player to visit a cave-castle, with Savaj and King Tiger, a rabbit and a tiger as optional bosses at the end. And that allows you to access the abyss of tears directly without going to see the sons of anger (or not, I'm not sure). And the third one, the wool plain, next to the wool forest, where we meet Lune, a pigrita, a kind of huge woolly pet that Drake and his mother used to take care of when Drake was little.
Anyway, I'm sure that the end of each of these three optional areas will offer a reward to the player for having crossed them, besides the lore. But I don't know what yet ^^
